As part of its ongoing commitment to community health education and prevention, Bellevue Medical Center organized an awareness session on smoking cessation and the dangers of vaping for around 160 Grade 8 students at Sainte Famille Fanar.
The session was presented by Dr. Céline Baaklini, Pulmonary and Critical Care Specialist at Bellevue Medical Center, who spoke to students about the harmful effects of tobacco, vape products, and IQOS on health and wellbeing. Through engaging discussions and interactive exchanges, students learned how these products can negatively impact the lungs, overall health, and long-term quality of life, despite the attractive trends and advertising often targeting young people.
The initiative aimed to encourage healthier choices from an early age and empower students with accurate medical information to better understand the risks associated with smoking and vaping.
